Consumer demand for flattering fashionable sexy plus size clothing has grown dramatically over the past few years. “Real women” want to look just as sexy and fashionable as their thinner counterparts and now with City Chic’s fabulous styles and designer range from well know Australian designer Michelle Cooke of Billion Dollar Babes, the women of Sydney can now stop searching.

Bringing High-End Designer Fashion to the Plus Size Market

City Chic, Australia’s leading fashion retailer in sizes 14-24 has joined forces with renowned Australian fashion designer Michelle Cooke of Billion Dollar Babes to launch the exclusive range “Billion Dollar Babes for City Chic”.

The collection consists of a limited range of 5 high-end designer dresses in varying catwalk styles.

You can expect to see the same signature style Billion Dollar Babes are famous for. The limited range will feature a Grecian inspired look, with stunning draped jersey fabrics. The range also includes, several party dresses just in time for the festive season.

“I’m thrilled about this collaboration,” Cooke says. “I wanted to design the collection for City Chic as all women, no matter their shape and size, want to feel sexy and have the opportunity to wear designer labels. The designs of Billion Dollar Babes for City Chic reflect some of my “best of” dresses and make my designs more accessible to the Australian audience.”

Phil Ryan, General Manager of City Chic is excited about the opportunities the collaboration with Billion Dollar Babes opens up for “Real” Australian women.

“The fact is that Australian women’s body shapes are changing” he says. Research from Myer shows that over 60 percent of Australian women are now a size 14-16. “The fashion industry is beginning to reflect these changes, producing more and more styles and designs to suit the curves of real women. However there are still very few offerings in the high-end designer market”.

Calling all sexy, sassy plus-size Aussie women! City Chic, Australia’s leading fashion retailer, in sizes 14-24, is looking for a new face to represent their bold, sassy brand and it could be you!

Teaming up with BGM Models Australia and internationally-renowned agency, Ford Models New York and their plus division Ford +, City Chic is hitting the streets, scouring the nation to find the next famous face of the plus-size industry.

“We’re looking for someone who represents what City Chic is all about,” says City Chic General Manager, Phil Ryan. “We want someone who is bold, sexy, sassy & chic , who loves fashion and is confident in her own skin”.

Darrianne Donnelly, Founder and Director of BGM Models, is excited about the opportunities the competition will open up for real Australian women.

A former plus-size model herself, Darrianne has managed Australia’s top plus-size modelling agency BGM Models, for the past 12 years and has launched the careers of models such as Natalie Wakeling and Elizabeth Green.

Now, in partnership with City Chic and internationally renowned agency, Ford + New York, she is turning her talents to find the new face of City Chic.

“If you’re bold, sexy, sassy & chic, then you’ve got what it takes,” she says.

The bold beauty who takes home the crown will receive a two year contract as the face of City Chic, valued at $30,000; an exclusive photo shoot with City Chic and Cosmopolitan magazine; a $1,000 City Chic wardrobe and an opportunity to be signed with leading Australian modelling agency, BGM Models.

Three finalists will receive a professional modelling portfolio, worth $1,000 and a $1,000 City Chic wardrobe. Seven runners-up will also receive a $1,000 City Chic wardrobe.

Entries open on Monday, 7th April and close Thursday, 15th May. Casting sessions will take place in regional and metro Westfield Shopping Centres across the country.
